Community Foundation of Howard County recently awarded Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry $5,000 from its Community Endowment Fund to be used to serve Howard County Residents

The $5,000 in funds provided by the Foundation will pay to process about 4,300 pounds of donated large game and livestock – providing 17,000 more meals through area hunger-relief agencies to residents in need within their community.” shared Amber Zecca, Fund Development Director of Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry. “A processor who works hard for Howard County AND does all the processing at a reduced rate so that we are able to make grants like this go so much further is Parrett’s Catering & Processing. Partnering with Parrett’s and the Howard County 4-H, we were able to process over 6,100 pounds so far this year This nutritious protein has been given to and distributed by Kokomo Rescue Mission, Howard Haven, and Crossroads Community Church – providing 24,400 more meals!”
