Community Foundation of White County recently awarded $5,000 to “Meat” the Need to aid in hunger relief efforts. Funds will be used to pay processing fees on donated deer and livestock with this protein-packed meat being given to agencies serving food-insecure residents within White County.
Over the past year, over 5,000 pounds was given to and distributed by White County Food Pantry, Humanitarian Distribution Center, Monon Food Bank, Twin Lake Food Pantry, and Lafayette Food Finders – providing 20,000 more meals to struggling residents.
