Miami County Community Foundation awards $2,500 to Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry “Meat” the Need

The Miami County Community Foundation, a fund affiliate of the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, recently awarded $2,500 in funds to process about 2,200 pounds of donated large game and livestock – providing over 8,600 more meals through area hunger-relief agencies to residents in need within their community.

YOU can help feed the hungry in your community by simply contacting a local, participating meat processor and donating large game or livestock to this program. There is NO cost to donors! “Our goal is to provide this protein-packed meat to hunger-relief agencies within Indiana because getting groceries at local food banks and pantries guarantees healthy meals for families when they need extra help. This effort aids in reducing food insecurity and empowering people by getting them back on track to hunger-free, independent living.” said Debra Treesh, Executive Director of Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry.
